Staying at The Chapel Cottage on the Corrour Estate:

http://www.corrour.co.uk/content/template.asp?cID=12

This isolated location by Loch Ossian is 11 miles from the nearest road, or a 4 mile walk from Corrour railway station, and is surrounded by mountains including many munros.

The cottage sleeps 10 and the cost will be between £60 and £45 per person for the 3 nights, depending on whether we fill it. Price includes electric, gas and firewood

The plan is to fly to Glasgow, and then get the train – the flight options are:

BA from Heathrow to Glasgow: 24th Feb 8:30 to 9:50 returning 27th Feb 18:50 to 20:15
Or
FlyBE from Southampton to Glasgow: 24th Feb 8:45 to 10:20 returning 27th Feb 18:35 to 20:05

The train leaves Glasgow Queen Street at 12:21 and takes 3 hours. Return train on Monday is 12:31.

Approx travel costs will be £130

Alternatively you can drive to Corrour, but this involves 11 miles of rutted track with some steep climbs and bends which could be in snow, so a 4WD with snow chains is essential. Or you can drive to Crianlarich and join the train from there.

We will have 2 full days in the surrounding mountains, hopefully in winter conditions – so you will need to bring along crampons and ice axes (if you don’t have any there are some available to borrow from other club members).

How to Book your Place:
Check with Claire that there are places available, pay a £20 deposit (either cheque or direct into the club bank account), and then make your travel arrangements.
Nearer the time we will plan the logistics of getting to the airport, food to take etc.
