Newbury to London Bike Ride, 25-26 September

Organiser: Claire

Following on from the successful Bath to Newbury bike ride last year, we are planning to cycle National Cycle Network Route 4 from Newbury to London Greenwich – approximately 90 miles over 2 days, with numerous places of interest along the way.

The basic plan is:
Early (8am) start on Saturday from Newbury to Reading following the Kennet & Avon canal, and then onwards along the Thames Valley via Wargrave, Maidenhead and Windsor Great Park to overnight in Staines (approx 50 miles). On Sunday the route closely follows the Thames via Hampton Court, Richmond Park and Putney to Greenwich (approx 40 miles). Various places to finish between Staines and London for the cycle-weary (on the Waterloo to Reading train line).

PLACES ARE LIMITED TO 10.

If you want to go, check with Claire that there are spaces and then arrange your accommodation in Staines. 3 rooms have already been booked at the Staines Travelodge (currently £52 per room).
