Sunday Walk - 20 July

Lovely Sunday jaunt in the country. About 9.5 miles. Good UK fresh air.

Start at the pub in Southrop on the River Leach at 10am. Get off the M4 at J15 Swindon, north on A419, north on A361, take A417 west just before Lechlade, 1st right (north) through Little Faringdon & continue on to Southrop (I defy anyone to fault these instructions...). One hour max out of Newbury.

We will walk up to Eastleach Turville and follow the small river through the Leach Valley. There is then a nice circuit of open downland (Macaroni Downs) above the valley, returning to the river through woodland, then back down to Southrop.

This is a quieter part of the Cotswolds to normal but has it all - open wold (whatever that is), great views, lovely little villages and fine medieval churches.
