Day Walk: Pewsey Downs & Vale – Sunday 21st Sept
Meet 9.30 for a 9.45am start at Pewsey Downs CP (more details below)
Please join me on this lovely, varied walk through glorious landscape.
We start by heading up through the Pewsey Downs National Nature Reserve to the Adam’s Grave barrow for great views over Pewsey Vale. We’ll then drop down into the Vale and make our way west through villages, across fields and along the K&A canal – much of the time in sight of the Alton Barnes White Horse – before climbing back up onto the downs to 294m. Lunch break here – bring sarnies! With stunning views all around we follow the intriguing Wansdyke over chalk downland to Milk Hill (Wilts county top), past the White Horse and back to our start point.
