Buttermere, Lake District – Lite Trip

Date / Time
Date(s) - 23 May 2014 until 26 May 2014 All Day

Making the most of the long weekend, we will venture into the north western Lakes area, which we rarely visit. There is not much in Buttermere except a campsite, pubs, some lovely lake scenery and some great mountain walking – what more could you ask for.

We have booked some pitches at nearby Dalegarth Campsite, a small site just by the lake and a 15 minute walk along the lake into the village and the pubs. The cost is £7 pppn (£4 for children under 12). The campsite has a couple of showers, a drying room and a social room, and allows fires and BBQs. If you don’t fancy camping then you are welcome to find your own accommodation nearby and join the group walks. High level walk options include the Grassmoor circuit, the High Stile/High Crag ridge, and the Dalehead/Robinson ridge. The lower level walks include rounds of Buttermere and Crummock Water lakes, and some great side valleys off Borrowdale.

As there is already a lot of interest in this trip, unless you have done so already please can you let me know ASAP if you would definitely like to come, as we may need to book more pitches – and as this is a small campsite it will fill up fast (if not already full).

Just a reminder – you will need to be a paid up member of the club to guarantee your place.
