Venue: The Sun in the Wood  http://www.thesuninthewood.co.uk
Start: Victoria Park by the Queen Victoria Statue, Newbury opposite the Library & tea shop by the Canal (12:15 – 12:30)
Route: Primarily an offroad route of either a 7.5 or 9.5 mile walk around the northern Newbury and Hermitage boarders before looping back into the Sun in the Wood pub for a nice 2/3 course Christmas Party meal. Its a short 1-2 mile walk back into the town centre afterwards or several people will have cars who are just going to the pub.
Families and Children are welcome for the walk, meal or both!
Plan is to have a stop part way to mince pies and mulled wine (please bring your own nibbles)
The meal starts approx 5pm and but the plan is to arrive around 4pm for a pre-dinner drink. Please bring torch as it will be nearly dark when we get there and also a change of footwear for the pub.
Prices are £22 for 2 course, £25 for 3 course, children (u12’s) are £14.95 for 3 course

Roasted Winter Vegetable Soup
Panko Breaded King Prawns with Sweet Chilli Dip
Chicken and Tarragon Terrine Wrapped in Bacon with Red Onion Chutney and Toast
Mains:
Roast Turkey Breast stuffed and wrapped in Bacon with all the trimmings
Grilled Fillet of Hake, Lemongrass and Coriander Crust with crushed new potatoes, Lemon and Capers butter
Five Spiced Pressed Pork Belly, Crackling, Five Spice Jus and Apple Frites
Vegetable Wellington, Flat Mushroom, Root Veg with Tomato Ragu sauce in puff pastry
Desserts:
Christmas Pudding with brandied Christmas Pudding Ice Cream
Chocolate Fondant
Lemon Tart and Crème Fraiche
