A club trip including celebration of Halloween, the plan is to stay in an older gothic style property, probably YHA Castleton Losehill Hall http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/castleton-losehill-hall, which is right in the middle of the fabulous Dark Peak. This place has oodles of space and is particularly plush as YHAs go.
Walks in the area are many, with Kinder Scout, Mam Tor and Stanage Edge right on the doorstep. For those who fancy a particular challenge there are plenty of longer-distance walks in the area (17m Dark Peak Snake, 20m Dambusters Challenge Walk, 20m Dark Peak Stones, 21m Dark Peak Challenge Walk, 24m Kinder Dozen Challenge, 26m Derwent Valley Skyline) and/or there are some easier scrambles nearby. There is also some excellent tea shops (don’t miss out on authentic Bakewell Pudding) and caves to visit.
The extra special highlight of this trip is to be a murder mystery dinner party on the Saturday evening.
