Sleeps 20 (6,6,8) and the accommodation will cost between £32 per person for the 2 nights, depending on how many go.
The bunkhouse is situated in a remote location at the head of the Edale valley, just off the Pennine Way (new start). There are comfy sofas and a wood burning stove, so it will be lovely and cosy if we have a cold winter.
There are plenty of activities in the area cycling (both hard off road and easy old railway lines), horse riding, climbing and of course walking. My plan is to do a good walk from the bunkhouse on the Saturday. As it is situated between Mam Tor and Kinder Scout, there are plenty of options for a scenic circular walk. Maybe even taking in a refreshment stop at a nice Peak District pub on route. Sunday we can do another shorter walk before heading home. There are also a few big caves around, so if you fancy an underground boat ride then that is an option.
Catering – may I suggest a communal meal on Saturday evening (approx. £5 each), I’m happy to cook, please let me know if you want to join the meal and any special dietary needs when you reserve your place. Self-catering Friday, breakfasts and lunches.
There are plenty of other options in the area for those who do not want an active weekend.
To secure your place on the trip please email me (ian.pocock@peak-em.co.uk) and pay the full amount to the club, letting Mark Foster know: mark@myndtech.com
The first trip of the year is always popular so make sure you book soon to avoid disappointment!
Transport arrangements will be sorted nearer the date.
