Aldbourne (day walk)

Date / Time
Date(s) - 13 Apr 2025 All Day

This circular route from Aldbourne – which has lots of lovely views across chalk downland – heads north west out of the village and up to the Ridgeway. From there we follow the National Trail north to the hillfort of Liddington Castle (trigpoint 277m) – a good high point for a sandwich!
We drop down a bit before turning back towards Aldbourne and walking up and along the ridge of Sugar Hill – passing Four Barrows along the way.
I believe this, and other locations in Aldbourne featured in a spooky 1971 episode of Dr Who….
Great views to be had all around before we arrive back into Aldbourne via the church.
