I hope you can come along and join us for our traditional annual walk and Christmas meal. This is a relaxed social day and involves a ‘mince pie and mulled wine/cider stop’ along the way, so you may like to bring some along. Children are welcome.
Where: Start at Hungerford train station car park. Cost for parking for the day is £1.70
When:  Meet at Hungerford station at 12.15pm. If you would like to go by train from Newbury (for those who may like a few drinks!) there is a train that leaves Newbury at 12.00 and arrives at Hungerford at 12.11pm. The fare is £5.10 return.
What: The walk will be approximately 10 miles and we will be walking to Kintbury and then back along the canal to Hungerford. Remember to bring a head torch! Â Further details to follow.
The Xmas meal:
I have booked ‘The Hungerford Arms’ in the High Street, Hungerford RG17 0NB for the Christmas meal which will start at 5.30pm.
2 Courses: £25.50 - 3 Courses: £30.00
Food: There is a choice of either a 2 course meal at £25, or a 3 course meal for £30 (a deposit is not required). Firm bookings and menu choices need to be with the pub a week before this date, so please let me know your menu choices. Non-walkers are welcome to join us at the pub for the meal.
Trains back from Hungerford leave at: 20.00, 20.40 and 21.24 or later!

Wild mushroom, pea and Gruyere cheese risotto with rocket and balsamic reduction
Pan fried fillet of cod, crushed herby new potato cake, chick peas, red peppers and pea puree

Classic Christmas pudding with brandy butter
Dark chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce, coconut shavings and raspberry sorbet
Sticky toffee pudding, butterscotch sauce, salted caramel ice cream
British cheese board with red onion marmalade, grapes, apple and biscuits
