Day Walk – Inkpen

Date / Time
Date(s) - 8 May 2016 All Day

Meeting place:  The Crown and Garter Pub, Inkpen (OS 158 -1:25,000 Grid Ref 377 637). If you are heading from the Inkpen Common or Kintbury, parking is just before the pub along a track by some wooden buildings. Not in the pub car park.

Start time: 10.00am: We will set off from the newly refurbished ‘Crown and Garter’, head across towards Lower Green and then head up to Combe Gibbet on the Wayfarers Walk where there are great views across Berkshire. We continue along the ridge for a couple of miles, then turn off towards Buttermere, walk across to the village of Combe, back up to Walbury Hill (an Iron Age fort and the highest point in Berkshire) and back down to the Crown and Garter where a well-earned drink can be appreciated!

Distance: Approximately 11miles

What to bring: packed lunch, drinks, snacks etc. Also, waterproofs plus sun cream/hat depending on the weather.

Please let me know if you are able to come, so we don’t go without you and so that we can possibly arrange car sharing.
