Staying just outside Fort William gives us endless options of places to go and things to do. There are numerous mountain areas within a half hours drive including Glen Nevis and Ben Nevis, Glenfinnan, and Glencoe; biking possibilities including along the Caledonian canal, with a very good bike hire place nearby, and the road to the Isles also leads to many beautiful coastal walks. Also not far is the Aonach Mor gondala and Nevis range ski slopes – we have skied here before in late March so it is not impossible!
We have booked 2 modern cottages – Lapwing Rise and Stepps Cottage in Banavie, both identical with 4 ensuite bedrooms sleeping up to 8 in each (mixture of twins and doubles), a hot tub each, and amazing views of Ben Nevis. I stayed here last year and it is a fabulous place and excellent value for what you get. Although there are 16 places, if 12 people (likely number) go the cost will be about £130 per person for the week and there could be the possibility for single people to have their own ensuite room – all depends on how many people come.
