Glencarron, Scotland Easter 2016

Date / Time
Date(s) - 26 Mar 2016 until 2 Apr 2016 12:00 am

I have found a similar set up to 2015’s trip – a house that sleeps 18 with a cottage next door that sleeps 8 for any families that are interested in coming. I would be looking at a minimum of 14 adults in the house, and if booking the cottage, 3 families, which would work out at about £150 per person (including child if taking a bed) for the week, less if we fill all beds.

Glencarron Lodge is in a spectacular location in NW Scotland, with plenty of Munros and lower level walking from the door, just a half hour drive from the more serious mountains of Torridon, and not far from the west coast. With Easter being in late March there should still be snow in the hills. Although on a main road, it is remote with the nearest place for provisions about 6 miles away. It is about an extra 2 hour drive time compared to this year – about 45 minutes beyond Inverness.

Although not quite as luxurious as this years place (no hot tub, no en suites) the location is superb for hillwalking and as a club we haven’t been to this area in recent years. All the rooms are doubles twins or singles and there are plenty of bathrooms, a grand dining room, excellently equipped kitchen, plus 2 games rooms and all the usual facilities you would expect from a large Scottish lodge.
