A family friendly trip to the black mountains staying in the superb area of Llanthony right in the middle of the valley, and just 2 hours away down the motorway…
The plan is to stay at this campsite. It is basic with just tap water and toilet facilities but the location is fantastic and it is only £4 per person per night (less for families).

Situated alongside the remains of Llanthony Abbey you can enjoy a beer (or wine) from the pub/hotel next door in the grounds of the stone ruins.
For those not keen on basic camping there is the hotel next door, or across the road is another campsite with B&B and self catering pod, and just up the road is the halfmoon inn pub.
Superb walks lead directly from the campsite on either side of the valley, so there are many choices for big day walks and options for those who prefer something a little less strenuous.
