Mid-Wales Cambrian Way

What/where: A mini hut-to-hut in the lesser walked area of mid-Wales, taking the route of part of the Cambrian Way. Depending on interest, other stages of the Cambrian Way may follow.

Accommodation: Subject to booking, but plan is - Friday night at Kings YHA in shared dorms (£14) or Cefn Coed Bunkhouse (£12.50), Saturday night B&B(s) in/around Dinas Mawddwy (£29-£45). Total cost therefore about £40-£60 excluding food and transport.

Transport arrangements: Drive to Kings YHA on Friday afternoon/evening. Walk the route to Commins Coch. A short car shuffle (23 miles) will be required.

Route: Saturday’s route is 14.5 miles if started from Kings YHA, or approx 16 miles from the bunkhouse and takes in Cadair Idris, Mynydd Ceiswyn, Waun-oer, Cribin Fawr, Craig Portas and Maesglase before dropping down into pretty Dinas Mawddwy for the night. Sunday’s route picks up the Mynydd y Cemmaes ridge and is a total of 13 miles to Commins Coch including Moel Eiddew.

MMM: To be confirmed, but initial indications give the total route as gaining you 3,350m.
