I am planning to run a trip to an area little frequented by NMC, namely the Berwyns.Â
Date is the weekend of October 12th  – 14th.Â
We’ll be staying at Spring Hill Farm - http://springhill.farm/accommodation.html there is a rumour we have stayed here in the dim, distant past. Â
The accommodation is a well equipped bunkhouse, which sleeps 25 in 6 rooms. 22 in bedrooms & 3 ( I’m guessing ) on sofa beds. As there is a family room this will be a child friendly trip. Â
To book the bunkhouse there is a minimum charge of £640 ( ie 16 people at £20ppn ) so we’ll need a minimum of 16 for the trip to go ahead. The farm also has 2 cottages which sleep 6 in each, so if numbers are low, there is a chance we could book these instead. Should we get more than 16 the owner, Sue, has said she’ll ‘do a deal’ thus making the actual cost per person less than £20.Â
The plan for Saturday is to do a circular walk over the main summits of the Berwyn Range. I have planned a 14 mile loop which takes in 16 summits, including the Denbighshire / Montgomeryshire County top. The countryside is open rolling moor. There are plenty of other walk options including one of the ‘Seven Wonders of Wales’ – Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall.Â
The farm is also an equestrian centre for those who like that kind of thing with both trekking , and, for the more experienced, hacking.
