Wales – Rhinogs, Eric Jones Hut

Date / Time
Date(s) - 10 Jun 2016 until 12 Jun 2016 12:00 am

We’ve booked 6 tent pitches at the Eric Jones Campsite & Cafe – http://www.ericjones-tremadog.co.uk/

Cost is £6ppn.

Eric Jones is a legend in the British trad climbing scene - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Jones_(climber)

No deposit is required, and the site has £0.50 coin operated showers. The cafe is open depending on demand, and does do evening meals. The nearest pubs are in Tremadog, about a mile away along the A498.

Some images of the two walks pencilled in:

The MMM possibilities are very good with lots of summits…

On the doorstep there is the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway & the Ffestiniog Railway, Harlech Castle, Criccieth & its castle, Tremadog Bay & the sand dunes, and Portmerion ( take a number & get in line ).

Please let me know asap if you’d like a pitch, I’m sure we can add further spaces if needed.

There is a bunkhouse ( sleeps 16 – £7.50ppn ) but not much interest was shown in using it so I have not asked if it is free as you have to take the entire place. There is also a larger bunkhouse ( sleeps 35, £7.50ppn ) which operated on the same lines as  a YHA.
