This is a pleasant & chilled morning walk starting from Pangbourne, taking you through the historic village of Whitchurch and up into the Chiltern Hills, The varied walk takes in the best of Chiltern scenery, passing through beech woodlands and open countryside and eventually by the village of Goring and then heading back along the Thames Path to Whitchurch and the Greyhound pub for a pint.
Distance: 7.5 miles – 4 hours (max)
Start time: 9.30am (Aim to arrive by 9.15am, as parking starts to fill up by 9.30am)
Start point is: Pangbourne Recreation Ground car park. Thames Avenue, Pangbourne, GR8 7BY (SU 63834 76652) East:463834 North:176651 The car park is free and located at the end of Thames Avenue, turn left at the end of Thames Avenue, then immediately right down a narrow lane between houses. There is alternative parking at the Dolphin Centre or Pangbourne Social Club at the top of Thames Avenue, but these are pay and display.
