White Horse Circular

Date / Time
Date(s) - 3 Mar 2024 All Day

Sunday 3rd March
Walk Start time: 10am
From Ashdown House nr Lambourn

Join Ann on this lovely 8-mile walk starting from Ashdown House just north of Lambourn.

We will set off through the estate, taking in some great views of this unique dolls-house style 17th century hunting lodge, and then wind our way up to the Ridgeway. We go past the mysterious Waylands Smithy before heading up onto White Horse Hill with the trig marking the highest point in Oxfordshire at 261m. This is a great spot for sandwiches, either at the hill fort or overlooking Uffington White Horse – depending on the weather situation!
We’ll then follow the Lambourn Valley Way across Woolstone Down before heading back towards Ashdown House over Weathercock Hill with more great views of the house.

About 3 (and a bit) hours walking plus stop for lunch.
We will set off at 10am from the Ashdown House carpark. This is a smallish car park (and popular) so please share where possible.
