Where:
Aldermaston train station to Padworth via Hind Head Pub for lunch & return walk to the train station.
Train times from Newbury are 8:13am & 9:03am. As 8:13am seems a little early, if those who are coming by train get the 9:03am from Newbury to Aldermaston, the walk will start at just after 9:20am from the train station. Return trains are 25 mins past each hour.
Walk:
The walk will be approximately 8 to 9 miles around Padworth, taking in some delightful sights, like Ufton Court & Padworth International School.
There is now a walkway from Aldermaston Wharf (where the train station is), parallel with the A430 to Aldermaston village. This is about a mile and a half long and is an easy option for those who don’t want to do the main walk but want to join us for lunch.
What to Bring :
The usual walking gear, rain coat etc. Torch needed for walk back to train after lunch.
Lunch :
Lunch is booked for 12:30pm at the Hind’s Head in Aldermaston. It costs £18.95 for two courses, £21.95 for 3. The menu can be found on the pub’s web site: http://hindsheadaldermaston.co.uk/
How to book your place :
Send Marion an email with your menu choices and pay £5 deposit. Deposit and food choices must be with the pub by the end of November.
