The club’s annual early December, Lakeland, rent-a-hostel trip. We have sole use of Eskdale Youth Hostel in the Western Fells.
A long walk is planned for the Saturday followed by a communal meal. If the weather is bad a low level walk taking in the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway is a possibility. NB Although this is a late autumn not a Winter trip, conditions on the summits and northern fells as we found out last year may be icy, consequently anyone intending to join a high level walk must have crampons and an ice-axe.
The cost will be no more than £36 each for the weekend but this will come down if the trip is well supported.
