Sleeps 16 (6,6,4)and the accommodation will cost between £28 and £35 per person for the 2 nights, depending on how many go.

The bunkhouse is situated next the Ilam Hall YHA which has a bar, there is also an NT shop and café on site. A few people have expressed an interest in bringing children. As the bunkhouse is unsuitable, then may I suggest that you book into the YHA right next-door (http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/ilam-hall#). I believe the club has a membership number.

There are plenty of activities in the area cycling (both hard off road and easy old railway lines), horse riding, canoeing, climbing and of course walking. My plan is to do a good walk from the bunkhouse on the Saturday. It is situated on the Manifold river, not far from Dovedale. Both of these valleys are very beautiful, so the walk will take these in in a loop. Height gain won’t too excessive, but we shall get a stiff climb up Thorpe Cloud. Plus a refreshment stop at a nice Peak District pub on route. For those who want something a bit more rugged, the Roaches, Hollinsclough and Axe Edge Moor are all within a short drive. If people would rather do that than the valley walk, let me know and I will plan a suitable walk. Sunday we can do another shorter walk before heading home.  There are also a few big caves around, so people should bring their head torches

Catering – may I suggest a communal meal on Saturday evening, I’m happy to cook, please let me know if you want to join the meal and any special dietary needs when you reserve your place. Self-catering Friday, breakfasts and lunches.

There are plenty of other options in the area for those who do not want an active weekend.

To secure your place on the trip please email me (ian.pocock@peak-em.co.uk) and pay a £10 deposit to the club, letting Mark Foster know.  Full payment will be required before the weekend, I will let those attending know the full cost in due course.
