Spike recently led an independent climbing and trekking expedition to Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
TheÂ expedition climbed new peaks and set out to pave the way for more travellers to visit the Wakhan CorridorÂ in north east Afghanistan.
With two friends in 2008 he won the first ever Land Rover/RGS-IBG ‘Go Beyond’Â bursary and spent seven months circumnavigating the globe along the line of 50 north, investigating theÂ human impact of climate change.
He was President of Northumbria Studentsâ€™ Union for two years prior toÂ this.Â He is a keen photographer and cyclist.Â Spike currently works as an Events Coordinator for the RoyalÂ Geographical Society (with IBG) in London.
There is no charge for this but charity donations on the night would be welcome.
