Spike recently led an independent climbing and trekking expedition to Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
The expedition climbed new peaks and set out to pave the way for more travellers to visit the Wakhan Corridor in north east Afghanistan.
With two friends in 2008 he won the first ever Land Rover/RGS-IBG ‘Go Beyond’ bursary and spent seven months circumnavigating the globe along the line of 50 north, investigating the human impact of climate change.
He was President of Northumbria Students’ Union for two years prior to this. He is a keen photographer and cyclist. Spike currently works as an Events Coordinator for the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in London.
There is no charge for this but charity donations on the night would be welcome.
