place: The Plough Inn, Shalbourne, SN8 3QF (OS 158 -1:25,000 Grid Ref 628 313 ). From Newbury head to Hungerford and go south on the A338 (signposted Salisbury) and take the turning to Shalbourne. Park along the road.
Start time: 10.15 for 10.30am: We will walk towards Ham and up onto the Wayfarers Walk where there are wonderful views across Berkshire. Then heading west along the Downs until we descend back to Shalbourne, hopefully the pub will be open!
Distance: Approximately 9 miles
What to bring: packed lunch, drinks, snacks etc. Plus waterproofs / suncream /hat depending on the weather.
