Scrambling in North Wales

Date / Time
Date(s) - 3 Nov 2017 until 5 Nov 2017 All Day

At long last here are the preliminary details about the ‘Scrambling Trip’ which has been on the club website for a few months…

I have booked a maximum of 16 spaces at the Pen y Pass YHA for Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th of November.

Due to the way in which the YHA work ( you need 16+ people to be considered a ‘group’ ) the PPN will be a maximum of  Â£22.50.

Pen y Pass needs no introduction, the YHA have spent rather a lot of cash on the place & you can climb both Snowdon & the Glyders from the front door, with a whole range of other options which don’t require driving.

As this is a YHA with smaller rooms & no large dorms, the trip will be child friendly.

George Mallory used the place ( when it was an Inn ) as his training base prior to his ill fated Everest expedition.  Just down the road is the Pen y Gwryd Hotel which was used prior to the 1953 Everest expeditions.

Please let me know ASAP ( YHA are holding our beds for a few days) so I can confirm numbers with the YHA & sort a deposit.

Once we have some idea of who is interested we can arrange the usual finer details of lifts, walks / scrambles & meals.

Please contact Dan for more information and to reserve your space…
